Samsung has yet to announce the Galaxy M05, but Amazon India has already listed the device on its online store. This upcoming phone is the successor to the two-year-old Galaxy M04 and appears to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor.
Notably, the Galaxy M05 features a MediaTek Helio P85 processor, while the Galaxy M04 is equipped with the less powerful MediaTek Helio P35 CPU. Another improvement is the 6.7-inch HD+ display.
The Helio P35 chipset in the M04 is paired with only 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (which can be expanded via microSD card), which is somewhat disappointing since the Galaxy M04 has the same memory capacity. On a positive note, the Galaxy M05 boasts a superior dual-camera setup (50MP + 2MP).
Additionally, the front-facing camera has been upgraded from 5 megapixels in the Galaxy M04 to an 8-megapixel selfie camera in the M05. However, the battery size remains unchanged, with both models featuring a 5,000 mAh battery. The good news is that the Galaxy M05 supports 25W fast charging, whereas the Galaxy M04 only offers 15W fast charging support.

The Galaxy M05 will come pre-installed with Android 14, and Samsung has confirmed that the device will receive up to two Android OS upgrades along with four years of security patches, which is quite standard for entry-level Samsung smartphones. While Amazon India indicates that the Galaxy M05 first became available on September 3, it is still not up for purchase, suggesting that this may be a placeholder listing that wasn’t updated in time.

Another key detail we are eager to see is the price.
Although Amazon India has not yet announced the Galaxy M05’s pricing, we anticipate it will be similar to that of the Galaxy M04, priced at Rs 8000 ($95 / €85).
