Nubia confirms Red Magic 9S Pro global release date

The Red Magic 9S Pro, Nubia’s “superior gaming phone,” has already been released in China. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer claims that the Red Magic 9S Pro is the first smartphone in the world to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version.

The “Leading Version”

tag is given to this version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset because it has been overclocked. Despite the slight enhancements, it provides the Red Magic 9S Pro with a performance advantage. The regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip includes a 3.3GHz processor and a 900MHz Adreno 750 GPU, whereas the Leading Version boasts a 3.4GHz processor and a 1GHz Adreno 750 GPU.

In terms of hardware, the Red Magic 9S Pro gives the impression of being the ultimate gaming smartphone. It features a remarkable 6.8-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

In addition, the phone features three cameras (50MP + 50MP + 2MP) and a 16-megapixel front camera. Notably, the Red Magic 9S Pro runs on a large 6,500 mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging.

In terms of design, Nubia’s flagship includes an aviation aluminum middle frame, RGB light strip, and a flat, rectangular form factor, similar to its previous model.

At the moment, only Chinese customers have access to this highly powerful phone. Nevertheless, Nubia has announced that the Red Magic 9S Pro will be available worldwide on July 16.

The ZTE-owned brand did not disclose the price of the phone. While the Chinese version of the Red Magic 9S Pro is currently available for pre-order starting at $550, it is expected that the international model will be priced slightly higher.

Due to the slightly superior hardware of the Red Magic 9S Pro compared to the Red Magic 9 Pro, it is probable that the former will be priced higher, estimated at around €700 / $700.
