The competition between MediaTek and Qualcomm in the high-end mobile chipset market will be particularly intriguing later this year with the upcoming releases of MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
Today, a new rumor from Digital Chat Station on Weibo provides some insights into the expected performance improvements of the Dimensity 9400 compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9300.
It is said that the single-core CPU performance of the Dimensity 9400 will be approximately 30% better than that of the Dimensity 9300, which was already quite impressive.

The large core of the Dimensity 9400 reportedly requires only 30% of the power consumption needed by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s CPU to perform the same tasks, thanks to significant improvements in energy efficiency. Additionally, the Dimensity 9400 is 35% more efficient than its previous model.
