iPhone 16 and 16 Plus: Apple Intelligence for everyone

Apple’s Glowtime event is currently underway, and we have already seen the launch of the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus! The new devices—no surprises here—resemble their predecessors significantly.

They say beauty is skin deep, and for the non-Pro iPhone 16 models, the real upgrade lies within an entirely new Apple A18 chip built on a 3 nm process. It’s likely just a rebranded A17 Pro or a variant of it—after all, we can’t have Pro chips in non-Pro iPhones, can we? The main point is that this new chip is said to pave the way for Apple Intelligence (also known as all the AI features we’ve seen in other services, now integrated under one iOS platform).

That camera module resembles an iPhone XS!

The awkward module featuring diagonal camera lenses is gone—the iPhone 16 now boasts a sleek and tidy design with two lenses positioned vertically and placed closely together, reminiscent of the iPhone XS from earlier models!

Wait a moment, that’s something different.

Apple’s latest upgrade for the iPhone 16 series includes a brand-new hardware button. Surprisingly, the company known for eliminating buttons and ports has spent the past two years reintroducing some — quite the twist.

The new capture button allows users to quickly access the Camera app, focus, and take photos through a two-step process.

Additionally, it features a capacitive area that lets you easily adjust camera settings by swiping on it. Furthermore, the Action Button, which was previously exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro models, is now being incorporated into the non-Pro iPhone 16 lineup.

Same display

Unfortunately, it appears that the screen sizes of the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will not increase, in contrast to their Pro counterparts. Additionally, Apple did not provide any information regarding ProMotion, so we assume these models will still feature 60 Hz displays. Furthermore, the Dynamic Island cutout at the top remains a defining characteristic of the iPhone and is here to stay. This story is still developing, so stay tuned for further updates as more information is released.
